History

Earls of Kinnoull · 1631

Built in 1631 on foundations reaching back three centuries, Balhousie originally served as the seat of the Earls of Kinnoull on a terrace overlooking Perth. It was virtually rebuilt between 1862 and 1864 in Scottish Baronial style, then became the regimental headquarters of the Black Watch in 2009.
