History
Magennis family · 1560s
A 16th-century tower house built by the Magennis family on the site of an earlier Norman keep, the castle was damaged during the 1641 Rebellion and subsequently sold to the Hall family. The Elizabethan-revival mansion visible today dates from the 19th century, while the original tower house remains as a preserved historical monument.
