History
Alexander Comyn · 13th century
Originally called Mortlach, Alexander Comyn, Earl of Buchan acquired this castle in the 13th century as a strategic stronghold. Extended through the 15th and 16th centuries, it fell into disuse after Robert the Bruce's destructive 1308 attack.
