Duncan Campbell · 1601-1609
Duncan Campbell built Barcaldine Castle between 1601 and 1609 on the shores of Loch Creran. The fortress acquired the nickname 'Black Castle' and underwent significant restoration in 1897 before becoming a luxury bed and breakfast.
