History
Menzies family · 16th century
The Menzies family held these Highland Perthshire lands from at least 1371. The Z-plan tower house was built in the sixteenth century and served as the clan's principal seat for over 500 years. Prince Charles Edward Stuart lodged there for two nights in 1746 before the Battle of Culloden. The Menzies Clan Society restored it from 1957 onwards.
