History
Llywelyn ap Gruffydd · 1273
Llywelyn ap Gruffydd, the last native Welsh prince, built Dolforwyn in 1273 to affirm his authority in the Severn Valley. Edward I besieged and captured it within four years, marking the end of Welsh independence and the beginning of English rule.
