Country hub · The Castle Rolls
Wales has the highest proportion of free, open-access castles of any nation on the roll — 30 of its 69, mostly Cadw-managed ruins with no ticket booth at all. Cadw runs 44 of the 69 in total, and the country's most famous entries — Caernarfon, Conwy, Harlech, Beaumaris — form part of the same UNESCO World Heritage listing.
