A fortified manor house on the Gower peninsula, built to display status rather than withstand siege, overlooking the Loughor estuary. Entry is paid at the adjoining working farmhouse rather than a formal ticket office, which gives the whole visit an unusually informal, rural character.

History
de la Bere family
The de la Bere family, stewards to the Lords of Gower, built this 14th-century fortified manor emphasising residential comfort over military function. Damaged during Owain Glyndŵr's 15th-century uprising, it retained enough structure for later occupation as a working farm.
