History
Hugh Maguire · 1428
Hugh Maguire built a castle at Enniskillen in 1428 as an Irish stronghold. It was subsequently captured, besieged and remodelled multiple times before falling under English control. Captain William Cole refortified it after 1607, and it eventually became a military barracks before opening as a heritage museum.
