History
Sir Colin Campbell · 1450
Sir Colin Campbell, 1st of Glenorchy, established Kilchurn around 1450 as the base for the powerful Campbell family's Highland expansion. The castle was enlarged over the next 150 years by successive Campbells. Struck by lightning in 1760, it fell into disuse and was completely abandoned by 1770.
