History
Dafydd ap Gruffydd · late 13th century
Late-13th-century castle built by Dafydd ap Gruffydd following Edward I's land grant in 1277. Slighted by Cromwell's forces during the Civil War, it later housed a hospital for obscure medical conditions from 1923-1950 and remains integrated into a functioning hotel.
